Bush Kinder

What a wonderful time we are having in our bush kinder program. Every Thursday we rush to the Pines with nothing more than ourselves...This week we introduced some ropes and hooks to see how just a few small items would change the direction and intention of play amongst the children. The children are so busy planning, designing and hypothesising in nature. It is wonderful to observe.

This ties in perfectly with our Playworlds Project on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, looking at incorporating various STEM concepts into every day play. We are discovering that even our youngest learners are able to understand how a conveyor belt works, and that the speed of water increases when you increase the slope in which it slides down.

We made a fire this week and enjoyed the beautiful conversations that are happening as the children sit around the campfire.
