Principal's Report

Our 18th Annual Scholars’ assembly was truly a tremendous occasion! Our Guest of Honour, Mrs Victoria Shelley (Old Collegian 2000) enthralled the audience with stories of her international travels as a sports physiotherapist. The Hayward sisters musically entranced us with their performances on violin and piano. Well done to Katie and Abbie respectively.
In particular, I commend our 2016 Scholars: Dux, Joshua Nichols, Dux Proximus, Ashywnn Samrai, Roberta Davidson and Madeleine Bradbeer on their outstanding academic accomplishments. Significantly all four scholars boasted considerable involvement in College leadership, citizenship, sport and music. Josh in addition to his Laidlaw House Captain duties, and the Male Voice Choir, was also Hockey Captain leading our First Boys’ team to Division One & ICCES Premierships. Ashwynn was our Swimming Captain and nobly led the swim team to great success in the Glenelg District Championship. Robbie was not only a tremendous Music Captain and painted an amazing VCE Art Major work entitled ‘Black Dog’. Finally, Madeleine our current School Vice Captain continues to make an invaluable contribution to both Music and Drama at the College.
All their achievements were a timely reminder that fabulous ATARs do not need to come at the sole expense of everything else. Well done to these Scholars and all of last year’s Year 12 cohort for their all-round contribution to the life of the school.
Congratulations to all our prizewinners on their outstanding academic achievements in 2016.
