Term 3 Careers and Pathways 

During the rest of the term, we will be undertaking Course Counselling with students to help them decide on their subjects for the following year and possible pathways.

Year 10-11 Course Counselling took place on Thursday 1st August from 11-7.30 pm. Each Year 10 student had the opportunity to select subjects for Year 11 and discuss pathways in a 25 minute interview. It was great to see so our Parents / Guardians attending  the appointment.

Year 11-12 Course Counselling will take place on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th August. Student appointments have been made and are posted on their COMPASS schedule. Every Year 11 student has a scheduled 15 minute interview to discuss their Year 12 selections and future pathways.

Year 9 Morrisby Interviews will take place during Week 5 of this term from Monday 12th, Tuesday 13th,  Thursday 15th August and Friday 16th 11-3pm. All Year 9 students that completed the Morrisby Careers Profiling in Term 2, will have a 30 minute interview scheduled during the day from 9am-3.40 pm with external Careers Counsellors who will explain their profile and how it links to possible career choices. These appointments will appear on their COMPASS schedule by Monday 5th August. Parents/Guardians are welcome to attend this interview at the scheduled time. All interviews will be held in APAC 1.

Year 12 Course Counselling and pathways discussion will begin in week 5. All Year 12 VCE and VCAL students will be part of this schedule.   It will begin with a briefing in Week 5. The first Year 12 VCAL Briefing will take place on Tuesday 13th August during Period 1 in their scheduled class. The first briefing for Year 12 VCE students will take place on Wednesday 14th August during period 4.

Each Year 12 student will then have a scheduled 25 minute appointment with one of the Careers Team to discuss their options for 2020 during week 6 or 7. These times will be posted on COMPASS.

In Week 8, there will be a second briefing to explain how to apply for courses, special entry access schemes and scholarships.  For Year 12 VCE students, this will be held on Tuesday 3rd September, during period 2. For Year 12 VCAL, this will take place on Friday 6th September during period 1.

Finally, there will be a quick follow appointment, where needed in Week 9 or 10 to finalise courses for 2020, as applications are due to VTAC by September 30th.
