Assistant Principal's Report

Welcome back to Term 3 we hope everyone had a restful break and ready for the busy term:

Term 3 is a busy time:

The year 12 students are really getting close to the end of Unit 4 with only weeks left of classes. Good luck with the rest of the term and make sure that you are keeping up with all the tasks and homework and using your greatest resource, your teachers.

There have been plenty of activities happening this term already where we have started preparing for 2019 and subject selections. During week 2 we held our annual Subject Selection Expo. This gave students and their parents the opportunity to come along and have a look at all the subjects that we potentially offer at the college. It also gave parents an opportunity to talk to the teachers and source information that will help with decisions. This week we held individual meetings for the Year 10’s who are moving into VCE (Year 11) and next week the Year 11’s moving up. It is important that parents and students take the opportunity to discuss their career pathways.

The year 8’s and year 9’s moving up a year level will also receive information soon in regards to the subject selection process. It is an exciting time for students please ensure that all forms are handed in on time.

Last week at the Junior and Senior assemblies we had Camps International talk to students about the amazing opportunity of traveling to Borneo on a 3 week expedition in 2021. Students seemed engaged in this wonderful opportunity. This week we had the parent information night where the team also outlined to interested parents all the benefits of such an amazing opportunity. On the 7th August at lunch time, in the APAC theatre, we have the official sign up session with students.

General issues:

With the colder weather, we have noticed that students are wearing non-college track pants.  Students can only travel to and from school in PE Uniform on days they have a practical PE class and then only if they are wearing the correct PE Uniform.  Items that are not part of the College PE Uniform are not permitted and a note will not be accepted for this.  Students who do not have the correct PE Uniform are to wear their regular uniform and change for PE; with a note explaining why they do not have the correct PE Uniform for their PE teacher.
