Year 11 Food Studies

On Friday the 19th of August, the Year 11 Food Studies Class went on a extravagavent excursion the Preston Market to capture footage and interview consumers and stall holders for our Unit 2 SAT.
We headed off from Viewbank College at 10:30am and touched down on the food filled streets of Preston at 11.
Students then went in groups around the Preston market to interview consumers and stall holders relating to a idea that they had generated for Future Food Solutions.
Students then tried a variety of foods around the market and then came together to have a discussion reviewing and having a sensory evaluation of the foods.
We then headed back to Viewbank College with lots of footage and belly’s full.
On behalf of the Year 11 Food Studies class we would like to say a huge thank you to Ms Robertson for organising such a fantastic and engaging excursion it was great to get a real life hands on experience that we can consolidate with the learning of area of study.
Big thanks to Ms Katie for also coming along and sharing her food shopping experiences with us at the Preston Market.
