Prep C

It has been wonderful to see Prep C delve into their learning with enthusiasm and excitement in all areas of our learning. We have been learning about information text, where we looked at facts and opinions.  Using our knowledge of facts, we have begun to transfer this skill into our Inquiry unit, as we Investigate Japan as our chosen country.

Did you know that……

In Mathematics, we have been investigating 3 Dimensional (3D) shapes and unpacking the language of faces, edges and vertices. Through hands on experiences, learners were able to compare the similarities and differences of a 2D and 3D shape and make connections to the environment around them. They were able to share their knowledge by identifying and describing 3D objects using vocabulary such as flat, curve, roll, slide and stack and record themselves on Seesaw. Here were some wonderings when we initially looked at 3D shapes:

“It’s a 3D square cube.” -Jiaan

“It’s a tunnel.” -Hania

“I think it’s a cone.” -Ziana
