Victorian State School Spectacular

This month, both the VSSS Mass Choir and Mass Dance Ensembles took part in Mass Hub rehearsals in preparation for the Victorian State School Spectacular, which will take place at John Cain Arena on September 10th. This is extremely exciting news as the last time this occurred was back in 2019!

On Friday the 5th of August, the VSSS Mass Dance ensemble team had the opportunity to rehearse with 25 other schools. Everyone certainly enjoyed themselves, especially because they got to try on their amazing outfits. We got to collect some of the dancers’ highlights: 

Meera 5B - “We got to try our new outfits and know the final positions” 

Dilain 5B - “Trying out the outfits was so great” 

Jag 5B - “Getting the costumes was definitely the best part” 

Jiya 6F - “Seeing everyone together again was special, and getting the outfits was awesome” 

The VSSS Mass Choir also were given the opportunity to rehearse together at Melbourne Town Hall on August 17th. This was a phenomenal day involving over 1000 students from across Melbourne all singing together. Again, this was the first time in years that this has been able to take place. The singers learned some new choreography to go with their wonderful voices; this will surely be a performance to remember! We got to collect some of the choir members’ highlights: 

Vinushi 3E – “It was exciting and the train ride was super fun!”

Dhashari 3E – “My favourite part was singing ‘Cold Heart’ with the whole choir!”

Ria 6F – “I have seen the robot cat for the show and it’s so huge. It looks amazing. Everybody is going to love it!”
