Junior School Potato Olympics

To celebrate the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the Junior School competed in the Potato Olympics! We created our own potato athletes and interviewed them to find out about what country they are from, what sport they are competing in and an interesting fact about them. We then created an athlete village with houses, swimming pools and even an equestrian course!

On Friday, the athlete’s competed in the Potato Olympics. We started with an Opening Ceremony where we had a torch relay and then the games began! The athletes did weightlifting, bowling, gymnastics, diving, sprints and long jump and we had so much fun coaching our potato athletes.

Prep Math

In Math we are learning about location! We have been practicing moving to the left and right through song and dance! We have been using our amazing drawing skills to help us learn the cardinal directions by drawing beautiful self portraits.

Transdev School Bus Safety Poster Competition

Do you know a wee Warhol, a compact Cezanne or a petite Picasso? Transdev are calling all Victorian primary school students to create a poster about bus safety for their chance to win some fantastic prizes!

This poster competition is a great opportunity for Prep to Year 6 students to engage with and learn about safe travel on and around buses, and to employ analytical and creative skills to develop a poster promoting bus safety.

Teaching students about travelling safely on the bus network helps build confidence when travelling and prepare them to travel independently to and from school.  Safety is a priority and they are committed to educating students about safe behaviours on buses and spreading the message that bus safety is everybody’s responsibility.

The bus safety poster competition opens on Monday 26 July and closes midnight Sunday 19 September.  Prizes include games, book vouchers and arts packs. Prizes will be awarded in three categories : Prep – Year 2, Years 3 - 4 and Years 5 - 6.  A special prize called the “Journey Makers’ Choice Award” chosen by popular vote of Transdev Melbourne staff will also be awarded in each category and a prize awarded to the school with the most student entries. Winners will be announced in early October.

For more information and to submit their entry, students can visit https://transdevmelbourne.com.au/poster-competition/.
