Chess Club

For the next round of the NSW Regional Secondary School Chess competition, McCarthy Chess Club will be travelling to take on Narrabri High School. Good Luck to the school representative players Elih Griffiths, Tho Trung Kien (Kevin) Bui, Dung Anh (Tom) Vuong and Damon Williams who will be representing the College on Monday 21 June.

Previously, McCarthy Catholic College played St Mary’s Catholic College in Gunnedah. The team from St Mary’s won the day. We all wish them every success as they proceed towards the 1st Division final for this competition. McCarthy Chess Club proceeds to the 2nd Division, where we will be playing Narrabri High School. A big thanks to Ms Samantha Kennedy for hosting our players on the day.

Big thanks to those players who are not part of the representative team, but still travelled in support. Each game helps develop their skills and they have been excellent ambassadors for the College.

The Chess Club will resume next term. All players and those wishing to learn are welcome to join.
