Year Adviser News
Year 7 Year Adviser
Allyssia Lloyd
Term 3 has begun quite differently this year with the commencement of remote learning. I would like to congratulate Year 7 students for all their hard work and the maturity they have shown in completing their classwork and maintaining contact with their teachers.
This term, the cohort have been given the fantastic opportunity to take part in sessions with the Blacktown Area and Community Centre. These sessions take place each week and focus on different aspects of wellbeing including mental health, nutrition and fitness, hygiene, healthy relationships, resilience, and bullying. Year 7 parents and students have access to these meetings on Microsoft Teams, by using the meeting link on their child's Google Classroom.
I would like to congratulate the following students who received an Evans Treats delivery for their efforts during remote learning; Elijah, Ngahiriwa, Sophie, Sanolina and Froilan. Well done!
Parents and caregivers are reminded to continue contacting the school via phone or email if assistance with education is needed.
Thank you for all of your hard work, I cannot wait to get back to school and see you all again.

Congratulations to all year 8 students who have shown a mature approach to their learning during these difficult times. Each week I am receiving emails from your teachers telling me how great you have been with handing in work and asking questions as needed. Well done to Ayesha, Alisha L, Camellia and Char-lee who have been our Evans Treats winners so far.
If you have not joined us already, we have been having a year meeting on Microsoft Teams on Fridays at 10:30AM to check in with everyone and to pass on any important information.
Make sure you are taking time away from your computer! Go outside and have lunch or maybe a walk around the block to help look after your mental health.
Make sure you keep asking questions and stay safe!!

A big congratulations to Kalinda, Luke, Viyan, Ali R and Omaima who were nominated for Evans Treats over the past few weeks. We hope you enjoyed your delicious gifts. So many Year 9 students have been getting nominated for these awards which shows how well everyone is working.
Just a reminder that Year 9 have a year meeting every Thursday at 10.30AM via the Microsoft Teams app. The link is posted on the Google Classroom 15 minutes prior to the meeting. We look forward to seeing you all next Thursday for our weekly check in.
Ensure that you have a routine for each day and make sure that includes some exercise and getting some sun outdoors. Ms Elliott and I are here to support you through these difficult times and we can be contacted through emails.
We hope you and your families are doing well and we look forward to seeing you all back at Evans High School when face-to-face teaching resumes.

As it has been for all of us, it has been an interesting and sometimes difficult transition for Year 10 into the world of online learning and working from home. From a Year Adviser perspective, I would just like to congratulate the cohort on their willingness and ability to engage with their studies in a digital space.
Students are reminded to please ensure that they are reaching out to their teachers and their Year Adviser team with any questions or queries that they may have.
To parents, I would just like to remind you that we are thinking of you too. Teaching from home isn't easy and I would encourage you to reach out to your child/ward's teachers if you have any questions as we are all in this together after all.
I hope that we are able to see one another in person again sooner rather than later, be kind to yourselves and one another.

Hello Year 11. It has been great to see so many Year 11 students excelling in online learning. Each week students are nominated for the Evans Treats Awards. A big congratulations to these students.
Students are reminded to engage in their google classroom and complete their work to the best of their ability. I also want to encourage students to engage in our well-being activities on our Year group classroom. We have been posting riddles, animal pictures as well as a daily 'Who Am I?' guess the Evans teacher activity. Please stay safe and hope to see you all face-to-face soon.
