I would like an abundance of peace.

I would like full vessels of charity.

I would like rich treasures of mercy.

I would like cheeerfulness to preside over all.

St Brigid of Kildare

Dear Families

There has been speculation this morning that Victoria again will face a three day lockdown.  Nothing has been confirmed and we are awaiting the Premier's news conference.  As soon as we have information we will contact families via Skoolbag.  Please be patient at this time and thank you for your ongoing support.

On a happier note - what a busy week we have had. Our Foundation students have been busy building their fine motor skills and dancing to 'Baby Shark', the Potato Olympics in 1/2, 3/4's are busy creating Marble Runs and the 5/6's have been busy organising for camp and trying to contain their excitement!

We had a lovely special pasta lunch - thanks Lisa and her team of cooks who make our Fridays a great day! Thanks also to Lily Barclay and Annie Barjam who jumped in and helped serve in the canteen when we had to move into the hall for over the counter sales at recess and lunch due to the windy conditions. You were lifesavers - thank you!

Our campers are finally going on their long awaited adventure, I am so excited for them, it has been on everybody's wish list.  Children are to arrive at school from 7.45am. Please come to the Chute Street gates where you will be greeted by Trisha, Hannah and myself and we will direct you to which bus you need to put your bags (not your backpack) in and then you can meet the rest of the campers in the hall.  Parents at this stage you cannot go into the hall due to the density quota (48 for a 1x4m quota), but you can wait outside until they leave.  We are leaving St Brigid’s by 8.15am or earlier if we are all at school.

While the campers travel to Waratah Bay, the rest of us are taking a fun day and going to travel by bus to Bicentenial Park to a picnic and play. The school will be closed on this day as both Tracey and Michele are coming with us to enjoy the day. We can still be contacted by calling the school phone number - 9580 4518.

We are also excited about Book Week.  A few dates for your diary - Crazy Hair Day Thursday 26 August and Book Week Dress Up Day and Parade Friday 27 August.  We are crossing our fingers for good weather on the 27th so that we can have our Book Week Parade outside so parents can join in the fun.

Our F-4 disco is on Friday 13th August if the restrictions are lifted (which they will be!). Unfortunately, our DJ is unavailable on that night so we have organised a juke box to keep our junior rockers rocking!!  I am looking forward to seeing the dance moves!!

I would also like to say a big get well soon to Nicholas C (1/2B). Nicholas had major surgery last week and I hear that you have been an amazingly brave patient!  We are very proud of you and look forward to seeing you back at school soon.

Thank you for your support and understanding when it comes to QR check ins and not going into the classrooms - hopefully Tuesday will bring us some relief from these restrictions.

Take care and stay safe.

Yours in partnership,

Wendy Sullivan
