Young Women's Mentoring Program

A capacity building program for young women in senior high school with a strong emphasis on developing their leadership skill set,  interpersonal skills, social capital and creating greater access to local networking opportunities. The program encourages and supports young women to invest in their own potential and forms meaningful links to peer networks and positive community role models.

We are inviting young women in Years 10 to 12 to take part in this opportunity to be matched to a mentor for nine months, using their time together to help unpack interests, goals, and wider career and life aspirations.

Additionally there will be rapport building and an opportunity for them to learn from the mentor’s own leadership journey, share experiences and lessons learnt and inspire them to realise their full potential as future leaders.

The program will be managed by Youth Services including the promotion, recruitment and allocation of participants and all the required checks and balances required to meet mandated legislation for working with young people and volunteers.

If you are interested please complete an Expression of Interest or contact Youth Services on 1300 369 436 to discuss further.

Fully Funded Accredited Short Courses

Each term we offer a limited number of short course placements to young people (online or face to face) fully funded by us. These help to add additional qualifications onto resumes, provide hands-on-experience or upskilling, to suppport progress into new roles.

In light of the challenges faced by many young people during COVID-19, we are looking at what online courses are available to young people and how we can assist in providing access to them.

If you are a young person aged 16 to 25 with a connection to the City of Kingston (live, work, study), and want the opportunity to complete a course, then click here to submit your interest or find out more.

Cook Bake Create

We know how much our young people love cooking and coming together so we have developed our very own online cooking sessions.

Each week cooking boxes with a recipe card and core ingredients will be home delivered to participants in time for them to join our Youth Workers online to cook together and hang out.

To join these sessions, you must be 11-17 years old with a connection to the City of Kingston.  Click here to complete an Expression of Interest form and one of our youth workers will get in touch.
