Media & Event Highlights

Welcome to 'Media & Event Highlights'! Here we will feature all the places the College has featured, showcasing our events and successes.

The College has a lot to be proud of and the students have shone brightly in all recent events.

The achievements of our students do not happen in isolation. Our strong relationships with students, families and connections with industry all combine to showcase wonderful achievements here at Denmark Ag.

For those of you that may have missed out on seeing any of our recent media ventures you can view them here in Media Highlights section of the newsletter.

Congratulations to our Farm Staff for being awarded Silver winners under Western Dairy.

This means that the quality of the College milk has been judged as being in top 5 percent of milk produced in Australia! An outstanding achievement, well done!

Wonderful recognition of our Farm staff but in particular our Dairy experts – awesome job Terry, Jack and Nia – and of course of our students!

Perth Royal Show

Our students dominated Junior Parading at the Perth Royal Show, placing in almost every division. Zoe Skinner, was named Champion Parader- an outstanding result! Congratulations to our students and staff, particularly Mr Marshall and Mr Seib, who prepared our students and cattle so very well. Thank you to Mrs Sally Panizza, the Director of Agriculture, who joined our Principal Mrs Kirkwood, in celebrating their success.

The second day of the Perth Royal Show was a big day for our students. The day began with Steer Judging with the College having several steers qualify in this competitive section. In the Extra Heavy Weight division, we secured Reserve Champion Steer, led by Year 12 student Hayley Keam, which was a great result in that class. The afternoon saw us compete in the state finals for Parading where we had several students involved. Our students did extremely well in this tough class among the high standard of competition. Later that afternoon, we competed in state judging finals where six students competed. Year 12 student, Zoe Skinner made the final and was placed third. Congratulations! All in all a strong day’s competition was had before moving on to sell our steers and hoping for good prices.
