REMEMBRANCE DAY

For the Fallen

"They shall not grow old , as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning.

We will remember them"

I would like to thank our Junior School Council, led by Mr Fussell for running a very moving Remembrance Day Service this morning.

We had our Service outside, near the flagpole. The large pine tree next to the flagpole has grown from a seed which was brought back from Lone Pine.

SWIMMING:

We are about to start our Annual Swimming Program. I urge every parent to encourage your child to be involved. I have been an Age Group Leader at Anglesea Nippers for some years and post covid we are seeing fewer children being competent swimmers due to being unable to do swimming lessons during COVID.

We seriously want our ACPS students as "waterproof" as possible for summer fun in pools, rivers and at the beach!  See Compass for details.

Prep to Grade 2 students will swim at Aquarena.

Gr3-4 students will swim at Carey Bulleen for 2 weeks.

Gr 5-6 students will swim for one week at Carey Bulleen then will spend a day at Smiths Beach Philip Island learning to surf. Everyone loves this fun day!

Christmas Hamper Food Donation - CareNet

Normally on the final day of Term 4 we have a food drive to support families over the Christmas break. Once again, this year we are joining with CareNet to help provide Christmas hampers to families in need within our community. To have these hampers delivered in time for Christmas we are calling for food donations earlier than we have in past years. CareNet have provided us with lists of items needed the most to fill these hampers. Donations can be left at the office up until Wednesday 30 November when CareNet will collect them so they can commence delivery of hampers prior to Christmas.

Thanking you in advance for your support of this worthy cause.

GUEST APPEARANCES:

Many thanks to Warrandyte Kinder for inviting Amanda Callaway and myself to speak at their AGM on Monday night- Amanda had put together the top10 tips for starting school which was very valuable.

On Wednesday night all our new prep parents were invited to an information session at school in the Prep room - our School Captains Jay and Rosalie did a great job speaking about their ACPS experiences over 7 years. Thank you to all the parents who came.

My thanks also to Amanda Callaway for doing such a great job running the night. Its been a big week!
