The sun was out, our communities were chanting and the anticipation was palpable as our 2022 Sports Day got underway last Friday. It was a huge day out in the sunshine, with children giving their all to their community and individual events.
Sports Day presents a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our communities, our students’ sporting abilities, and our Senior students’ leadership – and it did just that. It was truly special to have families joining us on the day to help support, celebrate and encourage our children, and was so wonderful to be together enjoying a day of community connection.
I was so proud of our children and the attitude, commitment and sportsmanship they displayed on the day. Our children have a fantastic ‘brave in front’ attitude, whereby the focus is on having a go, doing their best, improving, and having fun. I would like to thank all of our wonderful St Paul families and children for your support to make the day so successful.
I would also like to thank all our teachers and staff for their help with setting up, organising children, and everything in between. It was a massive group effort, and I am so appreciative of all the work they do. A special, heartfelt thank you goes out to the front office administration team and Mike who support me with all the preparation behind the scenes. It takes a village, and I am truly grateful to have the greatest village around me. Thank you also to all our families who assisted on the BBQ – HOW DELICIOUS – thank you to Tania Pile for her wonderful photography on the day, and thank you to the families who stayed to assist with packing up. Your time and help is so appreciated!
Congratulations to the overall winners on the day – Kurraka! The final results of our sports day were:
1st place – Kurraka 201 points
2nd place – Yaltu 199 points
3rd place – Nantu 184 points
4th place – Kadli 156 points
5th place – Kardi 153 points

Thank you for your support and enthusiasm! I am always so very grateful to be a part of this wonderful and special community. I was so proud of all our children on the day and had the time of my life watching the day unfold! I look forward to seeing many of our Year 3-6 children compete competitively at the Connected Athletics – Endeavour Cup Carnival next week.
