VOLLEYBALL
On Thursday, the 3rd of November, the Year 7s went to their 2nd volleyball competition this year. The boys’ and girls’ teams both went since they made it into the next round. The last time they went was on the 29th of March at Eagle Stadium whereas this time, it was all the way in Geelong. Competing in the girls' team was Ruby, Ebony, Ilka, Larissa, Hayate, Alex, Caitlin, Khadijha, Rachel and Ophelia. The boys competing were Thomas, Charlie, Jackson, James, Levi, Lucas, Abdul, Zeidan, and Braxton. Both teams sadly didn't make it to states. The boys got so close but just fell short by 6, with a set 3 score of 9 - 15. The girls only got to play 2 games out of 3 because one team forfeited so they were supposed to play the same team twice. They lost the first time but if they won the next two, they would get through but the team they were supposed to play twice decided they didn't want to play them again so no matter the score of the next game the girls’ team couldn't get through. The boys got to finals but lost the last game that would have taken them to states. The girls' team was coached by Jackson and Christena. It was supervised by Shaun. The boys' team was coached by Mr. Trambulo (a.k.a Mr. T). The boys’ team did come runners-up. Well done to all the Volleyballers.
DODGEBALL
Altona college has been hosting a house dodgeball event in recent weeks. As well as being split into secondary and primary, the four houses, Langhorne, Crofts, Price-rose and Yakult-William are versing each other in an ongoing tournament. The houses have been split into 12 smaller teams, composed of about 4-10 students. A game is played in the gym most Mondays, Fridays and sometimes Thursdays. There are 15 levels of the tournament, with the twelve teams versus each other until the final two go head-to-head in the final round. There are 4 rounds: first round, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. Congratulations to the teams who made it to the quarter-finals, the golden dodgers, the lepreseans, the bullets, chicken littles and emerald crocs. We can't wait to see the outcome of this exciting sporting entertainment to brighten up our lunchtime.
