This year we have been very fortunate to have two French language assistants work with us at WHPS.

Livi from Switzerland was our first. She welcomed her son Lael at the end of August.

 

Livi was replaced by our new assistant Océane Piaia who is from the outskirts of Paris.

The French captains conducted an interview with her:

 

Q1. What previous jobs have you had?

       Océane: I used to be an environmental scientist.

Q2. Do you have any other family members in Australia?

       Océane: I’m all alone ☹ (Except for my partner 😊)

Q3. What do you miss most about France?

       Océane: The supermarkets, the trains, family and friends.

Q4. What do you do in your spare time?

       Océane: Bush walking and dancing.

Q5. What is the best thing about Australia?

       Océane: Nature in or near the city, the many cultures and the positive thinking.

Q6. Where in France did you live?

       Océane: Greater Paris (Eastern part of the department of Seine-et-Marne).

Q7. When did you move to Australia?

       Océane: April 2018 (Four and a half years ago).

Q8. Do you have any pets?

       Océane: My partner’s mum’s dog.

Q9. What is your favourite colour and why?

       Océane: Green, mostly because it represents nature.

Q10. Why are you in Australia?

       Océane: I want to live in an English speaking country and to have a change in my life.
