Kitchen Garden

3/4R

3/4 R had their 5th Kitchen Garden session on Monday. The weather had us both indoors and outside in the garden.

We built climbing frames using tea tree branches, bamboo and jute string in the classroom and then we made our way to the garden. We secured the climbing frames in the garden beds and planted climbing beans next to them.

Some children worked on creating a sign which will be put on a sheltered wall in the garden area.

The last of the cauliflowers were picked ready for 3/4G’s cooking session on Friday. The leaves of the plant were chopped up using shovels and put into the compost with a layer of shredded newspaper.

Next week will we be making garden inspired Christmas Wreaths.

If anyone has some native plants in their garden that they could trim some flowers or stems from, to share, please bring them into school tomorrow or next Tuesday.
