Winter Sports Round Robin

On Friday the 10th of June, our Grade 5/6 students participated in the Montrose District Winter Sports Round Robin Day. We had 8 teams participating across the following sports: AFL, netball, soccer and T-Ball.

A big thank you to our wonderful staff and helpers, who stood out in the rain all day, particularly Joy Smith, Ava V, Cass Kinloch, Angela Willey, Troy Kinslow and Adrian Ryan, who volunteered their time to make sure our teams could all participate.

Despite the weather, students showed outstanding effort and sportsmanship throughout the day to produce lots of wonderful moments and results. A special mention to our Netball A girls who won the grand final and will now progress to the Division finals next term.

Perceptual Motor Program (PMP)

Over the past fortnight, our Prep students have participated in activities practising the following skills: hopping, crawling, running, balancing, rolling, hand-eye coordination, jumping, skipping, throwing and catching. A big thank you to our Grade 5/6 students, who continue to show great leadership and enthusiasm whilst assisting with these sessions.

Hoop Time

Next term, our students in Grades 3 - 6 will be participating in Hoop Time District days. Information is available on Compass for these events, for students who have opted to participate. We need helpers to coach and score for each of our teams. If older siblings or family members are able to help out, please contact me through Compass or email (melanie.layton@education.vic.gov.au).

In a very exciting addition to our sporting calendar, our Grade 1 and 2 students will be participating in Hoop Time minis this year! This program is aimed at having fun and giving young children the opportunity to give basketball a go. More information will be sent out on Compass next term.
