New Library Environment

After much toil and zest, the IRC has been transformed into a brighter and spacious area. Smaller shelves replaced the huge ones that loomed near the windows which enabled the sunlight to flow into the space easily, thus amplifying the welcoming atmosphere.

More individual study desks were created to allow students to have their personal space if they wish to engage in private study, however the larger tables were still sustained to cater for group discussions too.  Apart from this, an inviting and warm reading nook been created in the gallery space for students to read and learn privately.

Reorganising the genres of books was part of the project as well and this process enabled a book sale to be conducted to distribute extra books to individuals who were interested in them for a cheap price. The PFA members assisted tremendously with this book sale by being present on Wednesday afternoons and dedicating their time to set up the stalls to sell the books.

Mrs Lal even placed delicate plants and small decorations on top of the smaller bookshelves which further adds to the elegance of the location. I personally believe that the new transformation makes the IRC appear more open which adds to its hospitable nature.

Mrs Lal dedicated an immense amount of time and effort to organise and instruct the transformations by ordering the necessary equipment that was required too. The IRC leaders played a significant role too by helping set up the new equipment and being present whenever possible to assist Mrs Lal with the changes. In addition, Ms Anderson aided with the reorganising of the shelves and the books whenever she was available. This teamwork allowed this project to be completed in a smooth and efficient manner. I hope everyone at Nossal enjoys the new set up of the IRC and continue to indulge in the services that it offers to the school community.
