Principal's Page

Dear Parents and Carers

The Semester 1 reporting period is a time to celebrate your child/ren's achievements and learning during the first half of the year.

In light of the work currently underway to further support parental engagement in learning, school reports are an opportunity to provide you as a parent or carer with feedback and input on how you can engage in and support the Catholic education of your child/ren.

The reporting period is twofold: the report and the parent-teacher conference. The parent-teacher conference compliments the written report and is a valuable communication channel with teachers. I invite you to turn to the Parenting Page of this newsletter for some tips on a successful parent-teacher conference.

When will my child's report be available?

Semester 1 student reports for Years 1 to Year 6 will be available via the Compass Portal from 3:30 pm on Wednesday 22 June  (Week 9).

Parent/ Teacher Conferences

Kindergarten:  Monday 20 June to Friday 1 July

Years 1 to 6: Thursday 23 June to Friday 1 July

Please see the School News section of this newsletter for booking details

Kindergarten

Kindergarten students do not receive a Semester 1 report. However, Kindergarten teachers will hold longer parent/teacher conferences where parents can engage in conversation with the class teacher about their child's progress, achievements and areas for growth.

Thank you! Great Job!

Thank you for sending your child/ren to school each day in the correct school uniform. We are very proud of our uniform and very much appreciate your efforts to maintain our high standards with your children.

The winter uniform can be especially challenging with extra buttons and ties. Many children are coming to school with their top button done up and their ties on correctly. Thank you for helping with our expectations. Great job Mums, Dads, and carers.

ACTION:

Check your child/ren's uniform each morning and have high expectations of them.

For all things at St Joseph's, give thanks!

How does my child receive a Principal's Award?

Class teachers nominate students for Blue Merit Awards and are presented at the weekly assembly.  When five Blue Merit Awards have been received, students are eligible for a Principal’s Award. When students attain their 4th Principal Award, they are awarded a Principal’s Medallion at an assembly.  End of Term awards can be included as part of the 5 awards.
