Religious Education

All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.                                                                                     Marylene Douglas

On Tuesday,  our Year 6 students will be participating in their Confirmation Reflection Day. The day will involve visits to different places of worship. Whilst doing a little research on different faiths, one thing struck me above all else. Although we have so many differences in our beliefs and traditions of worship, almost all religions have the one common rule, otherwise known as 'The Golden Rule'- To do unto others as you would have done unto you! According to Ilene Cooper, the author of the picture story book The Golden Rule, "If you listen to other people, no matter who they are or where they are from, and treat them how you wish to be treated, your life will also become better. Your kindness and generosity will ripple through the whole world"

'This is the simplest, hardest, most beautiful rule human beings have ever discovered. It is an old rule, a sacred rule, and a universal rule' claims John Greene, and how amazing, inclusive, equal and just our world would be if everyone would follow this one simple rule!
