Feature News - Performing Arts

Selamat Siang !

Mount Pleasant's Got Talent

On Wednesday 22nd the finalist's for MPGT will be performing their acts for their peers, family and judges. The students have been working hard over the last few weeks to polish their performances ready for the big day.  There will be singing, dancing, magic and more on display. I wish all the students the best of luck with their Performing Arts Endeavours.

As Term 2 comes to end we look forward to exciting new Performing Arts experiences in Term 3. Next term all students from foundation and Year 1/2 will demonstrate their Performing Arts skills by performing in the Junior Production.   The Junior Production will be held on Tuesday 13th September at Crossways Theatre in Burwood.  From rehearsing and performing in this production they will learn the skills of stagecraft and build confidence by performing in front of a large audience. Putting together a school production takes teamwork.  Any parents who would like to help with anything from props, staging, costumes, your help would be greatly appreciated so please don’t hesitate to come and speak to me.

Kitchen/Garden

Huge news in our Kitchen/Garden world! Earlier on this year, the Sustainability Captains worked with Bu Mundy to apply Woolworths Junior Landcare Grant - and we were successful! We are looking into revitalising and improving our Indigenous Garden area of the corner of the school grounds, as well as adding more hands-on learning about Indigenous Perspectives by learning about bush tucker, native plants and language from country.

Zart Art Student Art Competition

In Visual Arts, students have been working on their own art piece to represent the theme 'My Environment'.

There is a Zart Art Student Art Competition closing on July 18th, 2022. It is not compulsory for students, however they are most welcome to enter the competition using their own art piece from home or the piece they have been working on at school. The link is below and has been shared onto Seesaw. Students can enter with support from a teacher/parent or guardian to submit.  Artwork can be 2D or 3D. Details of prizes are on the link and each participant will receive a certificate of participation.  Best of luck artists!
