Bird Restrictions in Place

The Golden Plains Shire is now a Restricted Control Area in response to avian influenza (bird flu) being detected on a free range egg farm near Lethbridge. This means no birds, bird products, or equipment related to bird keeping can move into, out of or within the Shire without a permit. This includes eggs, manure or chickens being sold or given away, whether on the side of the road, on your property, your local store or at markets.
