POLDING CROSS COUNTRY
On Tuesday, six students from St Nicholas School travelled to Eastern Creek to compete at the Polding Cross Country. Well done to Jessie George, Bailey Maher, Kobi Wadwell, Cohen Jones, Oscar McMurtrie and Lachlan Mulligan.
All of these students completed the course and made themselves, their families and St Nicholas School proud with their valiant efforts. Lachlan Mulligan finished fourth in the 12/13 year boys, despite losing a shoe in the last 50 metres, and will now compete at the PSSA cross country on Friday July 22nd at Eastern Creek.
POLDING RUGBY TRIALS
Good luck to Lyla Davidson, Kobi Hamlin and Gus Davidson who will competing with the Armidale Diocesan squad at the Polding Rugby Trials in Forbes on June 26th and 27th.
POLDING GIRLS RUGBY 7s
Congratulations to Lyla Davidson and Amarnii Ramirez who will be competing at the Polding Girls Rugby 7’s Trials in Sydney on Tuesday 9th August 2022.
DIOCESAN CRICKET TRIALS
Good luck to the following children who are attending the Cricket trials on Friday 17th June 2022 in Tamworth: Max Judd, Max Daly, Gus Davidson, Dominic Hoy, Thomas McMullen and Callum Anderson.
FIELD EVENT TRIALS
This term we have been lucky enough to have gained a Sporting Schools Grant for athletics. We will be having Jay Strong come into the school. Jay is a coach for Athletics Australia. He will be teaching all the children different athletics techniques such as running, long jump and high jump. He will be coming on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons so some classes may need to wear their sports uniform on a different day. Please see your class Facebook page and Compass notifications for these changes.
POLDING BASKETBALL AND HOCKEY
Last week Thomas McMullen, Noah Evans, Blake Judd and Eliott Rodda have been representing Polding in Basketball and Hockey at the PSSA carnivals in Tamworth. We look forward to hearing how the boys went.
Polding Hockey
Our experience at the PSSA carnival was a fun experience for the whole team. Unfortunately none of us St. Nicholas kids were lucky enough to make it through to the state teams. Thankfully the team was lucky enough to have Angus from Armidale make it through to State. But we believe that even though most of us didn’t make it through to the state teams that the rest of us have all found it a wonderful feeling to go to such an enjoyable event, as well as improving as a team and making new friends.
