PE Events in Term 2

One of the main exciting things that we have done this term is playing field hockey. We had Kim and Kristy from Hockey Victoria come teach us hockey skills. Most of the students were completely new to the sport so it was great seeing everyone learning and improving. People enjoyed it so much that they started playing the sport for a club all thanks to the clinic. Throughout the year we will have many more sports clinics.
The Foundation and 1/2 students started us off, sprinting through the cones and off around the school. The 3/4's and 5/6's cheered them on as they ran in their house colours. We have also had cross country this term. In the 3/4's and 5/6's cross country, 10 people from each age group and gender had the chance to compete in the district cross country representing our school at Ruffey Lake Park. After District was division for students who came top 20 in their age and gender. We ended up with three people going through from each, which is an amazing achievement. Then we had Regional Cross Country, and three people made it. Unfortunately, no one made it to State but we still did an amazing job as a whole.
Throughout the Term, 3/4s and 5/6s were given the chance to participate in a sports event which was known as Gala Day. Where we play against other schools in different groups of sports. The four sports we had were AFL, Netball, European Handball, T Ball. There were finals for those teams who won most of their games. Everyone had so much fun.
Student Voice:
Throughout the Term, each class attended AFL clinics during PE. We learned how to kick and handball the football. It was fun learning from experts and playing with other people.
