Georgina Manning
Friday 10th June staff session
What a wonderful day staff had with Georgina. We deepened our knowledge about anxiety and had a lot of rich conversations about how we can grow and further develop the support we give to our students in regards to their understanding of feelings and emotions. We explored ways we can help children grow in independence to navigate life while experiencing anxiety and worry.
Some of the many tips we heard:
Reassure that feeling anxious is normal
Help children to recognise anxious thoughts
Encourage children to face fears in small steps
Encourage healthy risk taking
Encourage independence
Georgina gave us many wonderful tools to use in the classroom to enhance our teaching. We have sets of emotions cards and posters and many many more.
Here are a couple of examples:
PLEASE STAND BY FOR THE NEW DATE FOR THE PARENT SESSION!
Now that we have heard Georgina in person we know you won't be disappointed. We will advertise the date for the parent session and movie night in the coming days. We are hoping to do it in Week 1 of Term 3.
