Teaching and Learning

Term 3 commenced smoothly and students have settled in well to their classroom routines and learning, which is great to see. Many classes will take the opportunity this week to spend time revisiting learning routines and behaviours to ensure that after the holiday break students are set up for success and ready to learn. Please see our BPS Learning Behaviour charts below for junior, middle and senior students.  These documents are written in ‘kid speak’ and you have most likely seen them around the classrooms and learning spaces when you have visited.

 NAIDOC WEEK 2022

National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. You can support and get to know your local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities through activities and events held across the country.

We know that some families took the opportunity last week to engage in some of the NAIDOC week activities on offer across Ballarat and surrounds. This week at school our lunch time club and library activities will be focussed on the NAIDOC Week theme, along with many classrooms taking the opportunity to involve students in several learning opportunities and activities.
