Principal's News

All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

Good afternoon families,

Welcome back to term 3 and a very chilly start to this term.

We have hit the ground running with Yr 6 students at camp this week in Maldon. The Yr 6 students have been bike riding and hiking around the township, roads and hills of Maldon.

Yr 5's went on an excursion to Kilbreda to see High School Musical performed by Kilbreda and St Bede's students. Many in the cast were from St Louis so this added to the excitement.

New Admin building

Finally the building has started this week with temporary fencing being erected and new travel pathways into the school created. The front gate and the gate from the church carpark are now permanently closed. Students coming from the church carpark or from Dolphin street can walk along the footpath to the new path running along side the driveway into the school.

As all deliveries for the building site will take place between 9.30 am - 2.30pm, please do not come into the carpark before 2.45 pm as you may become caught up with trucks delivering building materials.

School Closure Day

Just a reminder that Friday 26 August will be a school closure day.

Rapid Antigen Test

It is recommended that rapid antigen tests are used by students and staff when symptomatic. Household contacts are required to test negative using a rapid antigen test on at least 5 out of 7 if they are attending or working at a school onsite. If students receive a positive test result at any time, they must report this through the Department of Health system (Rapid antigen tests | Coronavirus Victoria) or via the coronavirus hotline at 1800 675 398. Students (or their parents) must also report a positive result to their school by phone or written notification; this is so the school can support them, record that they will be absent while in 7-day isolation, and let the rest of the school community know there has been a positive case onsite and that they should monitor for symptoms. Students and staff who have tested positive for COVID-19, have completed their 7-day isolation period and are subsequently asymptomatic do not need to undertake surveillance testing for twelve weeks.

Enjoy your weekend
