Ethics Olympiad

Last week, a team of Year 11 students competed in the Senior School Ethics Olympiad. The students were required to become familiar with a series of ethical cases, decide on their stance as a team, as well as consider and understand opposing views. The students were then involved in respectful discourse with students from other schools around NSW as they analysed the ethical cases and were marked on the way they presented logical arguments to these. The ‘ethletes’ demonstrated critical thinking skills as they presented their ideas and then carefully listened to the ideas of other students before responding. Although the students did not receive a place, they were given an honourable mention for their excellent participation.

Year 11 students Oscar Manuel, Shivaal Maharaj, Matthew Svoboda, Alessandro Romeo and Angus Reen.
