On Wednesday 23 May we had 23 students from grades 3-6 represent our school at the WESA district cross country. The effort of all these students should be commended. A big congratulations to Leela for making it to the next stage. She competed in Division on Wednesday 1 June and came 38th. We are very proud of Leela's achievements.
There is an ongoing construction blitz in the STEAM room! Grades across the school have been designing and building. It would be super if families are able to send along any of the following clean materials for students to use as they build.
The grade 1s and 2s are storytellers! Students enjoyed creating stories and characters with felt boards and will add musical sounds to help tell their stories.
AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINAL ART STYLES
Year 3 and 4 chose an Australian animal to illustrate in Indigenous art styles, focusing on line, pattern and colour.
NORTH AMERICAN TOTEM POLES
The senior school students have been looking at the totem poles of the First Nations
of North Western America. Students chose an animal to represent themselves and to honour their family. The individual artworks will be displayed as a totem for viewing in the next week.
