KWS Giants Match Report 30 April 2022

The KWS GIANTS came away from the first round of the 2022 Winter Netball season 37-4 win against CYMS Comets.

With heavy rain subsiding just in time to ensure the Senior games could go ahead, the KWS Giants kicked-off its 14-round competition with an epic win. The first quarter of the game set a winning tone with Eleanor Matheson-Clark playing in the Goal Keeper position, Prue Donnelly- Goal Defence, Joanne Zhang- Wing Defence, Sylvia De Graaff-Centre, Farrah Gaff- Wing Attack, Jade McLean- Goal Attack and Alicia Burke in Goal Shooter. A few positional changes in the second quarter saw Lilla Attenorough enter the game and make a huge impact from the Goal Attack position and Zielle Lewis demonstrate some crafty footwork as the Goal Shooter. The defence was highlight of our match-play with the defensive combination of Joanne (WD), Eleanor (GK) and Prue (GD) keeping CYMS Comets to just 2 goals in the first half of the game and Prue (GK), Eleanor (GK/GD), Jade (GD/GK), Joanne (WD) and Farrah (WD) to another mere 2 goals in the second half. A special mention to both Sylvia and Joanne for their outstanding work-rate. Final score a win 37-4. POTM Sylvia De Graaff.

KWS Giants Netball Match Report 7 May 2022

KWS Giants claimed a solid 50-07 win over Hawks on court 3; the only match being playing outside in the chilli conditions at 3:50pm. The Giants won every quarter convincingly. The defence off Hawk’s centre pass during the third quarter was so impressive that the Giants did not concede a single goal for its duration.  With two core KWS Giant shooters out this week, most players stayed on the court for the duration of the match. Prue Donnelly moved from the defence end, making a showy impact as Goal Attack and ranked number 1 for the most goal assists. POTM Joanne Zhang.
