TheirCare OSHC

OSHC Community Garden Project

We are in the process of developing the outdoor space between the OSHC building and Primary building to create an OSHC community garden. Installation of a fence around this area started this week. The fence will create an enclosed garden area that will be filled with more garden beds and plenty of plants for students to look after. The space will be decorated with colourful bottle cap murals and clay tiles the students have been working on at OSHC and at home. TheirCare are also making bright flowers out of old soft drink or water bottles to add more colour! If you have any spare plastic bottles that are destined for the recycle bin, please donate them to TheirCare instead. Text Rebekah on 0476 004 524 to organise collection or drop off.

The OSHC team are so excited to brighten up this space and utilise it for learning and fun!

Onsite Program

TheirCare OSHC program is running onsite 3-6pm each day. The service is open to all Yarrabah families and any student can attend. This is separate from the onsite school program and has no criteria. Students do not need to be attending school during the day. You can drop your child at 3pm and pick up at 6pm.

We would love to see more students in the after school care program. It may be helpful for a change of environment, to get them outside doing some exercise, engage them in activities or allow them to see some friends at school.

This time may help you to do some grocery shopping, jobs at home, take the dog for a walk, spend time with other family members or take a well-deserved break.

Activities on offer next week include outside chalk drawing, painting with pom poms, parachute games, a music dance party, sensory play with rainbow pasta and rainbow scratch drawing.

Increased hygiene practices are occurring with an extra staff member cleaning and sanitising surfaces during the session, regular sanitation and washing of all resources and linens and additional cleaning by school cleaners.

We would love to see some new faces at after school care – if you have never been to after school care or holiday program, not to worry, you can attend!

The service is fully funded by the Department of Education and is free of charge. If you would like to book your child in please contact Rebekah from TheirCare on 0476 004 524.
