BPS students stepping up to the challenge!

Hi I’m Sophia.  Recently I have completed a 50km walk.  We trained for it for 6 months.  It was the A2 Milk Upstream Challenge and I walked it with my younger sister Yasmin and my father.  I was one of the first kids to do it, not the youngest though as that was my sister Yasmin. Even though we went through a lot of challenges, we overcame them (mainly our feet hurting!) and finished the walk.

Hi I’m Harini.  A few weeks ago I climbed a mountain 4.4km barefoot.  I flew to India to do this with my father and my brother, my uncle and 2 of my cousins.    It hurt climbing over the rocks and twigs and leaves.  It was hard but worth it in the end.

Also special thanks to Ruby and Sabella our friends who encouraged and supported us.

Introducing the 'Future Stars' Hooptime Team Finalists of 2019

Team members Duke, Fergus, Mason, Georgia, Charly, Emily, Jess, Krista, and James.

Last Thursday we went to the state finals hoop time competition at Dandenong Stadium. There were 32 teams playing on the day. We won all three of our round games against; Montrose, Glen Katherine and Aitken. We then progressed to the quarter-finals with the top 16 teams for the day and played against Kinglake Primary. It was a really close game but unfortunately, we went down by 3 points in the last minute of the game.

We had a great day and at the end and were presented with these tops.

We wanted to say a big thank you to the parents for driving us on the day. Thanks to Darren for coaching us and Avina for helping coaching us.

Grade 4 Visits Scienceworks

On 22nd November, Grade 4 trekked off to Scienceworks for a fun-filled day of learning about forces and all things Science.

The highlight, without doubt, was a one-hour session in the Lab where the students got to experiment with potential and kinetic energy whilst making their own fabulous rollercoasters.

All students participated wholeheartedly and were very engaged and creative. The results were excellent with loops, bends, curves and braking systems being successfully implemented.

It was a beautiful day and the students also enjoyed the tour of the old pumping station ( albeit a little pungent ) and exploring the many sporting and scientific exhibitions.
