Lachlan Stewart - Carpentry

Lachlan is a Senior Year 12 VCAL student who is following his passion of working with his hands, within the building industry.  In 2019, Lachlan’s Intermediate year of VCAL, he approached Brydon, a friend of a friend, for the opportunity of work placement. Lachlan has continued this placement throughout the 2020 year. While working with Brydon Constructions Lachlan has experienced the full gamut of tasks performed as a ‘chippy’. He has assisted with tiling, floor laying, building decks, erecting scaffolds, roofing and constructing staircases. 

Lachlan loves the support that he is receiving at Brydon Constructions and is fully aware of the assistance that all of Brydon’s workers and contractors are providing. He is particularly grateful for the patience they demonstrate and the willingness to explain all tasks in detail. Lachlan thoroughly enjoys working with his hands and would eventually like a career in carpentry or the electrical field. Mazenod College would like to thank all the employees of Brydon Construction who are providing Lachlan with the skills, advice and guidance that is required within the building industry. In particular we would like to thank the owner, Brydon, and co-workers, Jared and Jayden for the mentoring and support that Lachlan has received.  We wish Lachlan all the best for his future and for his final year in VCAL.
