‘Remembrance’

During the last few weeks, many of us spent time remembering. For those of us for whom Easter holds special significance, our thoughts centred on the sacrifice of One who offered the prospect of new life for all. Many stood in silence on Anzac Day, as we remembered many lives being sacrificed for the good of generations to come, including ours. My wife Bonnie and I travelled to Turkey in 2008, including Gallipoli – it was a very moving experience!

8 May is an International United Nations day of ‘Time of Remembrance and Reconciliation for Those Who Lost Their Lives During the Second World War’. There are many International Days of significance in our global calendar. These days serve to help us to learn from the past, and empower us to change in the future. A time of reflection can be beneficial in helping us to grow to our full potential, as we deal with the lessons of past experiences.

Here are some quotes that remind us about the importance of remembering:

Enjoy making new memories with your family, that you can look back on and remember with gratitude! Here I am in my family’s first car, an early Holden. The later picture is at the Colour Run – great times!
