Lest we forget .........

Welcome Back

There is such a happy feeling in the air at GRPS as we return to school with the lifting of many of the restrictions and the unmasking of teachers and students. To see everyone smiling reminds me how much I have missed seeing faces and expressions.

‘Smile’

A smile costs nothing but gives much,

It enriches those that receive

Without making poorer those that give.

It takes but a moment,

But the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.

Picasso at Work

Last edition I spoke to you about the incredible changes in the creation of the Library Space. It appears that there has been more magic at work over the Easter period, with the painting and carpeting of the main building.

We engaged with a colour consultant who specialised in creating calm learning environments for children. Our paint palette of teal greens, light coloured walls and grey carpet certainly has made a spectacular difference.

Please visit our facebook page to see the before and after video.

The installation of automatic doors near the chess board and the disabled toilet ensure that we are catering for all our students and staff with additional needs.

We excitedly await the arrival of our new pinboards to fill with students' work topped off with a communication television in the foyer to share the school activities. There are also plans for a vinyl wrap display of our school values as you enter the front door.

You will be pleasantly surprised the next time you drop in for a visit.

Continue to watch this space for further developments.

ANZAC Day

It was an honour on Anzac Day to be at the Ringwood Clock tower with our School Captains to lay a wreath on behalf of the school community. It is a service that always leaves me full of emotion as we assemble to commemorate our service men and women and the sacrifices they made and continue to make.

Our school leaders also conducted an Anzac Service for the students and the flag monitors lowered the flag out of a sign of respect for the fallen. The last post was played, and a minute of silence was observed by all.

Lest we forget….

Enjoy your weekend with your family and friends.
