A Message from Parents & Friends

Hi everyone,

We hope that you all had a great break and are ready for Term 2. What an exciting end we had to Term 1 with our school fete - it seems to have been and gone in a flash! We have a great term of exciting events and activities ahead with our school disco and mother’s/ special persons day. All our profits from our events are going towards improving sporting facilities so we ask for your support this term.

School Fete

A massive thank you to everyone who helped organise our fete, to those who donated items, to those who volunteered their time on the day to help out on a stall (and to those who stayed longer than they intended to stay), to the staff for giving up their Saturday, to the students who worked hard preparing for their grade stalls and those who volunteered on the day, to everyone who helped pack away and count tokens, to everyone in our school and wider community who came along and had fun on the day. It was fantastic,  after the last few COVID years, to see the school busy with activities and bringing us together again.

We have sent out a survey to the community via Compass to get feedback so please ensure you provide feedback over the weekend if you wish to do so.

We are still finalising our profit total, but we do know this, it’s looking a really fab number and we hope to share this with you in the coming weeks. We are on the right track to starting our fundraising for improving our sporting facilities!

We would like to thank the following committee for all their donations and work to the fete:

Haley Ballingall – for coordinating all the volunteers

Meagan King – for baking over 600 scones for the Devonshire tea and for supporting the grade stalls

Michelle Tyson – for organising all the items on the Parents & Friends stall

Fiona Farrugia – for coordinating the BBQ and not stopping running around on the day

Mel Wright – for organising the hot chips and frying them all day long!

Kristen Michelmore – for the amazing stall signs

Anne Hynds – for popping corn all day long

Kate Frost - for coordinating the entertainment and getting her Dad to perform

Michelle Appleby - for organising the market hall

Lisa de Vaux - for organising the coffee and keeping us fuelled

TERM 2 Events

Mother’s Day/ Special Person’s Day Stall

Please note that we are running our Mother’s Day stalls on Wednesday 5th May and Thursday 6th May.

All items will be priced at $5. Each child will be entitled to purchase one item on Wednesday and then as many as they wish on Thursday until we’re sold out – this is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to buy an item for their special person, should they wish to.

Mother’s Day/ Special Person’s Day Event – Friday 6th May

By now you should have received your information about our event. We look forward to celebrating with you on this day.

We will be having a picnic with our children and then classrooms will be open.

Special Lunch – Friday 20th May

This term, our special lunch will be Sushi. Details of how to purchase will be sent home in the coming weeks.

School Disco – Thursday 23rd June

The school disco will be held the day before the end of the school term. Due to the postponement of the event last year, we will be running with the Rainbow theme again. The brightest colours to make our disco, pop! More details will be sent out in May.

TERM 2 and 3 Treats

We have been busy working through ideas for treats for Term 3 and have come up with icy poles for as long as the weather allows, alternating with flavoured milk, doughnuts and possibly even giant snakes. Further announcements will be made via Compass.

Volunteering

Thank you to everyone that has signed up for all the events in Term. Volunteering is a great way to get involved with the school and meet some new people! Watch out for TERM 2 events being added soon. https://signup.com/go/NAryeRX

Thanks for your continued support.
