Caring and Sharing

School / Community Wellbeing

It has been a most difficult time for many members of our school community. COVID continues to hang around and now multiple flood events have been happening. We hope that all our families are safe and dry and reaching out for help as needed.

It is almost the end of Term One and we have had so many interruptions to school already this year. Let’s all hope for a more stable and positive Term Two. Rest assured we are doing our very best to keep your children learning at school and most importantly, feeling safe, secure and happy.

Puppies!

Just the antidote we needed for gloomy, rainy days! Libby (who works in the office on Monday and Tuesday) brought in two of her absolutely adorable Labrador pups last week.

Blue and Sally melted all our hearts and were cuddled and patted most thoroughly by staff and children alike! Thanks Libby!

Milkshake Day

The Student Representative Council (SRC) ran a milkshake stall last week and it was very popular. The yummy chocolate, strawberry, caramel and vanilla milkshakes were made by Myrtle. In addition to that there was cream on top, with sprinkles, skillfully added by Coby! Thank you, Donna for donating these delicious extras.

We made a little profit on the day and Treasurer Hattie carefully counted the money for us. Thank you for your support.

More SRC Events

As Easter approaches, the SRC is keen to indulge in some more fun and tasty activities. We have already sent home raffle ticket books. Please let us know if you need more books and if you don’t wish to participate, please return the books to school.

We will be donating any funds raised to local flood victims (not to any of the big charities).

Prizes are delicious Easter treats and we will be drawing the raffle on the last Thursday of the term, the 7th of April.

Speaking of Thursday, 7th of April, we will also be holding an Easter Hat Parade at school and a sausage sizzle. We can finally welcome families back to school and hopefully the weather will be kinder to us all than it has been. The SRC is also holding an Easter guessing competition and an Easter egg hunt on the day. We hope we can see you all there on a lovely, DRY, Autumn day!

More details will be sent out next week.
