Weekly Program Recap

28.03.22 – 01.04.22

This week at TheirCare our theme was “Easter” which the children requested as they are getting excited for the upcoming holiday.

On Monday the children assisted educator Imogen in writing the program, through discussions, suggestions and looking up different activities on the iPad. This week the children engaged in many different experiences, such creating bunnies, eggs and baskets.  The children also were excited for the sports games in the gym.

The children enjoyed a game of Easter mix up which was played like fruit salad, but the children choose easter themes instead of fruits.  The game was played by all the different ages and the children showed sportsmanship and fairness to each other with lots of encouragement.

The children in the craft/art area worked on creating fun bunny faces, which they turned into puppets, peg holders, masks and magnets. The flexibility of the pattern allowed the children to explore different ideas and creativity.  The children had egg patterns they could create their own designs and then created a 3-D egg using glue and string.  The children enjoyed the experience to make it spin and bright colourful.  The children then created easter baskets using different media to create different textures on the baskets.  The children showed skills on cutting and building the baskets. Throughout the week we also engaged in spontaneous play and experiences such as sketching with shading images Malakai creating a dragon eye, and many of the children had fun playing the game of twister, uno and penguin ice break.  The children enjoyed group games of basketball, running games in the hall. The children are all excited about activities they are sharing from the larger community. Great way to share about themselves and family in the services. 😊
