NSWPSSA Swimming
On Monday and Tuesday (4th and 5th April), 10 St Xavier's swimmers travelled to Homebush as part of the Polding Swimming Team. The St Xavier's swimmers made it through to many finals after qualifying in the top 10 fastest in their heats to make those finals (out of nearly 40swimmers in each event). An achievement on its own. Some students made several finals with Jacob Smith bringing home 2 medals and is now off to Nationals in Brisbane in August. Jacob just missed the medals in 2 other races coming in 4th overall. Molly Ramien and the Junior Girls relay also narrowly missed a medal.
All the swimmers are to be commended on their hard work, dedication and wonderful sportsmanship at the event.
A big thankyou to the parents who travel with, and provide support for the students. A special mention to Kate Ramien for providing all the results, Nichole Carlyon and Aaron Smith for the photos and also to Aaron Smith for keeping us informed when races were on so we could watch the livestream!

The girls played great netball and went through the round-robin undefeated. They then progressed to the final on Saturday 26 March. The girls played an excellent game and came away triumphant on the day. Congratulations to Gunnedah South School for being worthy competitors on the day.
A big thanks to Miss Hamparsum and Miss Glavocih for preparing the girls. Thanks also to all the support crew who turned up to cheer the girls on.
Diocesan Winter Trials
Schools are invited to send students of a proficient skill level to the Diocesan Winter Trials in Armidale on Friday 8 April 2022. A Diocesan team to represent the Armidale Diocese at the Polding Trials in Bathurst on Friday 29 April 2022 will be selected in each sport. Sports are Netball, Soccer, League and Hockey. Each school is limited in the number of students for each sport. We were overwhelmed with talented soccer players wanting to attend and had to run trials at school.
Best of luck to those students who will be attending the trials.
Cross Country
Today we ran our Primary Cross Country. Well done to everone for having a go and running the 2km (8/9 and 10 years) or 3km course (11 and 12 years).
Congratulations to the first 6 runners across the line in each age group. They will now go on to the Diocesan Cross Country which at this stage is to be held in Barraba on Friday 6 May.
