Recycling at Easter
With the celebrations of Easter upon us and an abundance of chocolate around, now is a timely opportunity for us to consider the impacts of our purchases.
Remember to reduce and reuse where possible, but follow these easy recycling tips too if you can:
Did you know?
- Aluminium, including the foil that wraps chocolate Easter eggs, is one of the most recyclable products in the world.
- Recycling aluminium saves 95% of the energy required to produce aluminium from raw materials.

How can you help every day:
· Lids for Kids @ Coles Colac: Clean and dried plastic bottle tops (specifically marked numbered 2 and 4 underneath the lid) from milk, water and soft drink bottles. Check out https://www.lids4kids.org.au/ or Facebook search ‘Lids for Kids Western Victoria’.
· REDcycle @ Coles and Woolworths Colac: Soft plastic recycling drop-off points for ‘scrunchable’ plastic including bread bags, netted fruit bags, biscuit packaging, cleaned yoghurt and baby food plastic pouches with hard plastic lids attached and many more.
