SOCIT Presentations to Students

Samantha Jennings, Detective Leading Senior Constable from the Colac Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Inquiry Team (SOCIT), and Acting Sergeant Josh Goonan have presented to all students at Trinity College about the importance of being safe and respectful in both the online and real world.

Trinity College is committed to upholding child safe standards and providing a safe, inclusive learning environment for all students.

In line with the Personal and Social Capability curriculum, Sammy and Josh highlighted the importance of using interpersonal skills to establish and maintain respectful relationships and covered the following topics: 

• Year 9 and 10  – online bullying, sexting, consent.
• Year 11 and 12 – safe partying, sexting, consent.
• Year 7 and 8 – respectful online communication, sexting, consent.
