The Principal's Desk

Dear parents, families and friends,

What a week it has been. The School Christmas Concert was a huge success. Three performances over two days. The students did an amazing job singing, dancing and acting. We had Santas and flying reindeers and even a flying sheep. We had Mary and Joseph, shepherds, kings and angels. The Christmas Grinch made an appearance as well as La Befana. It was wonderful to see all our parents and many other family members attending the performances. I hope you enjoyed watching the performance just as much as we enjoyed producing it. I cannot speak highly enough of the students, a stunning performance. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff for the hard work in preparing the students and setting the hall for the concert. A special thank you to Mrs Ady in her role of overseeing the concert and to Mrs Mazzeo and Miss Librizzi for their management of lighting and sound.

Next week our Year 3/4 students head off on camp from Wednesday to Friday. This will be the first time away on camp for both our Year 3s and 4s, as the Year 4s missed out last year due to Covid Lockdown. The camp is at Portsea and involves some water activities, so we are hoping and praying for some nice warm weather.

On Tuesday we begin the Orientation Program for our 2023 Prep Class. We look forward to officially welcoming these children and their families to the St. Augustine's school community. I know they will be excited to meet Miss Jess, their Prep teacher for next year for the first time. I know Miss Jess can't wait to meet all the new Preps!!

To support those affected by the recent floods, students are asked to come dressed in BLUE or PINK clothing or accessories and bring a gold coin donation on Monday 21st November. This initiative has been organised by Elka in Year 5/6.

As we get closer to the end of the year, especially Christmas season, any donations will be greatly appreciated and go toward to families affected by the natural disaster.

We thank you for your support!!

We also have our Christmas Hamper collection for St Vincent de Paul. At this time of the year it is important for us to remember why Christ came into the world and to think more about others than ourselves. I am always blown away by the generosity of the students, family and staff at our school. For a little school we have a giant heart!!
