This is your life… What are you doing with it??

So I have to let the cat out of the bag. I am a bit of a TV buff, Australian dramas and reality tv are always a popular choice, so with this week's episode of This is your Life focussed on the life of Rebecca Gibney I couldn’t help but tune in. I was in awe of her while watching,

not because she was famous, but because of the way her friends and family described her. Words such as generous, humble, kind, loving, respectful were frequently used. While watching I couldn’t help but think, wow Rebecca has really made it! Not by the shows she has been in, but by the person that she has become and how she has used her fame to help others in need.

This week's Gospel reading is tricky. While reading I couldn’t help but think about the role we play in our lives and how  we often look towards God to ‘fix’ things, when we should also realise that by the grace of those who around us, we can be fixed as well! I wonder how we can help others? How we are called to be the light of Jesus in the world around us?

With Christmas just around the corner, our school community always shows help through our Parish St Vincent De Paul group who help those with limited resources during the festive time.

This year yet again we are asking families to put a couple of extra items in the shopping trolley to help those in need. Below is a list of ideas that we would like to collect over the next two weeks. Please hand donations into the classroom so that they can be collected during Week 8 of Term.

Have a lovely weekend,

God Bless,

Lauren Considine
