STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS

Adelle Bott makes her own cakes and enters them in the local shows, including Wentworth and Mildura. Adelle received first prize for her 'Bee Cake' at this year’s Mildura show, as well as other prizes for her entries.

Adelle writes: 'I made this cake for the Mildura show. On Saturday, I cooked the cake and did a crumb coat. On Sunday, I spent time decorating it and making the bees by hand. This was only my second time using fondant.'

Rebecca Hayes, Year 9 competed in the North West Zone School Shoot on Thursday August 18, at Kerang.

Against 31 other junior shooters from the North West Zone, she came first overall, with a score of 18/20. This was a huge achievement for Rebecca, as she was the only person in Mildura who competed.

With this score, she qualified for the VCTA School Shoot, which occurred on Monday, September 5, at Echuca. Rebecca came third in the Junior Girls with a score of 21/30, competing against other young girls. The shoot had 47 students attending from all across Victoria.
