2023 Subjects

As the 2022 academic year continues to speed toward December, planning is well and truly underway for the coming 2023 academic year. In addition to recruiting new teachers as the College grows by over 250 students and runs Year 12 for the first time, our larger cohorts at Years 10 and 11 have given us the opportunity to rethink and revamp our programs to enable more pathways for our students and opportunities for success.

This means that students have the opportunity to select from a larger range of subjects and are even more likely to have their preferred subjects run.

VCE 2023

There are several fantastic improvements for VCE at Edgars Creek Secondary College in 2023. The College will be running Year 12 for the first time in 2023, and we will be introducing the Vocational Major stream of the VCE, which replaces VCAL.

The following VCE subjects will run in 2023:

Year 10 2023

As the College continues to grow, our structures and programs grow as well. We have made meaningful changes to Year 10 in 2023 that a) allow students even greater access to Units 1 & 2 VCE subjects, b) allow students to select a Mathematics pathway, and b) prepare students for senior secondary studies.

Students will participate in one of the following Maths subjects: Mathematics - General or Mathematics - Advanced.

Our selection of electives at Year 9 continues to grow, with the following subjects running in 2023:

Our Years 7 and 8 program continues to be embedded and improved as the College grows.

In addition to core subjects (English, Maths, Humanities, Science, Health & PE, and Spanish), students participate in two specialist subjects each semester.
