Indonesian - Bu Condely

There has been lots of exciting work happening in Indonesian recently!

Some of our junior classes have been learning about different modes of transport. Check out their beautiful watercolour paintings!

Other junior classes have listened to a version of an Indonesian folktale, ‘Kancil dan Buaya’. The mousedeer outsmarts the crocodile and makes it safely across the river. We played lots of different games to learn our target vocabulary and even made our own puppets to retell the story.

Our Year 3’s and 4’s created some masterpieces when responding to an Indonesian version of ‘Too Many Pears.’ In this story, Pamela the cow really likes eating pears but one day she eats too many. Then she starts dreaming of a new favourite fruit. Students thought about what this could be and added it to their pictures.

In Years 5 and 6 we have been listening and responding to a song, ‘Lupa, Lupa, Ingat’ by Indonesian band Kuburan. Here you can see students playing the ‘Marker’ game to learn some of the target vocabulary.
