Thank you to our volunteers at the College for your ongoing work through this school year. Parents and Carers who are now becoming involved in activities for the Summer Season or in Term 4 generally, should check that they have completed the required Volunteer Registration Form. This form is for College records and is stored securely with the Principal’s acknowledgement of your work done at the College.
If you have not yet filled in this required Form, please find the copy of this ‘SPX Volunteers Undertaking and Declaration Form’ below. On completion, it should be returned to Ann Brady, the Principal’s Personal Assistant for the Principal’s approval and College records.
As you may be aware, Parents and Carers who are working as volunteers with teams/groups with which their child is associated, are exempt from a volunteers ‘Working With Children Check’. If you are in a voluntary role where you are supervising students in a close capacity, or without a staff member working with you perform your role, then you are requested to complete a WWCC application. There is also an Information Sheet below to assist you.

This application will provide you with a WWCC Number (via an email). This number, along with your D.O.B. details, should also be submitted to the Principal’s Personal Assistant, Mrs Ann Brady (abrady@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au), for us to verify as is required by law.
All volunteers should be aware of their responsibilities as a responsible adult around maintaining and ensuring child safe cultures, if you ever have any concerns or questions regarding our students’ well-being or welfare please contact the Principal or Deputy Principal at the College.
Volunteering from parents and carers is so vital to our community in being able to provide a broad and rich experience for our students – we are truly appreciative of your time and efforts.

Just a reminder that parents are obliged give a term’s notice in writing, in regard to withdrawing your son from the College, to avoid a charge of a term’s fees plus GST.
Ms M King & Ms C Jennings - Enrolment Registrars
Fees are due by no later than this Friday 14th October unless other arrangements have been made with the Fees Office.

This day annually marks the work done globally by teachers and school colleagues in providing the best environment possible for students as they make their way in the world. Through prayer and attention we stand in solidarity with fellow educators working in challenging environments such as Syria and other communities in varying conflict.
Working across school communities with ‘Edmund Rice Education Beyond Borders’ (EREBB) is another initiative that St Pius has contributed to through the leadership of Mr Sean Brannan and our Principal, John Couani, currently offering service and leadership with fellow educators in the Edmund Rice Tradition in at the EREBB Congress in India.
On the recent school term break, I saw a sign outside a school in country NSW that read “Inspiring Students, and hardworking teachers and staff makes this a great school”. The same of course could be said on Anderson Street.
Thank you to the P&F who acknowledged this World Teacher’s Day and the work of all of the staff here at St Pius X College, with their hosting of our “Welcome Back Breakfast” this Monday.
Here’s to a great Term 4 for all – students, staff and parents alike.
Ms S-J Grove - Head of Staff Services
