Tejasvi
Hi, I'm Arjun and I am your Science Captain alongside Tejasvi for the year 2020!
I will tell you some information about myself now. I like playing drums, I like solar, I like games, I like maths and obviously, I LOVE science. My family consists of 4 people, including my mother, my father, my older sister and myself!
Now, let me tell you some of my science related topics. I have been getting distinction and high distinction in the science and digital technologies ICAS tests for 3 years in a row. Also I have always been selected into the gifted and talented G.A.T.EWAYS. This year I have been attending the Tronics (Coding and engineering) G.A.T.EWAYS.
My favourite foods are, fried chicken, pizza, burgers, wraps and baked beans. I want to be an automobile engineer when I grow up because I'm super passionate about being one and I like making and designing technical objects. I already have made a cabinet full of LEGO sets, I have made 2 robotic arms, I have made 1 prototype prosthetic arm and I have made a working V8 engine kit!
So, I am looking forward to being a proud and happy role model for everyone and being a great science captain and leader. The thing I’m most happy about is the solar program run by SSPS and I want to make our school proud again. I hope you give me a lot of support so I can be a successful science captain!
Your friendly Science Captain, Arjun!
Music Captains
Hi, my name is Leah and I am your Music Captain for 2020. I have an older sister that used to go to this school and her name is Alina. I am 11 turning 12 this year on the 31st of August. Things I like to do in my free time are drawing, singing and playing on my guitar. I also go to a dance school and perform, I have been there for 8 years now. I enjoy being at school because I learn and get to hang out with my friends. This year I will try to make you all love music even more and I will encourage you all to try your hardest and to never give up.
Hello my name is Dinethi. I am absolutely delighted to be one of your Music Captains for 2020! I have been musical since I was little. I enjoy playing musical instruments. I play violin and piano, I have also participated in many concerts. Last year in term 2 and term 4 I participated in the instrumental concert. In term 4 I was busking to raise money for a school that got burnt down by a bushfire. Last summer holidays I donated my hair for charity. I am a sharing and caring person. I am the only child in my family, so coming to school and hanging out with my friends is a big deal for me. During my spare time I like to read. I am a great Harry Potter fan and I have a lot of collectibles with me. I will keep you updated on upcoming musical events with my friend Leah. Join me and Leah for a melodious 2020!
Art Captains
Hi, my name is Deanna and I’m one of your Art Captains alongside Fiona for 2020.
When I am unoccupied I prefer to draw, cook and do craft. My favourite subjects at school are English and surely Art. I constantly try to push myself out of my comfort zone so I can accomplish more. A few things that I admire are puppies, playing with my friends and sport. Three sports that I love are Aerobics, Tennis and Cricket. I have been in this school for nearly 7 years, since prep. I love helping people when they need it. I demonstrate all the school values, Responsibility, Respect, Care and Resilience. Some of my strengths are that I am creative and funny. I regularly like making my friends giggle. After reading this, I hope you have learnt a bit more about me. I am looking forward to working with you all!

Japanese Captains
Konnichiwa! My name is Charlize and I’m one of your Japanese Captains for 2020, alongside Matthew Lam! I’m really excited to have the opportunity of being your Japanese Captain and aim to make this year’s SSPS Japanese truly memorable.
I’ve been attending Japanese Club during lunchtimes since Year 4. Last year at the Hiragana Asobi Karuta competition, SSPS came 2nd place. I was able to win all 3 rounds in the challenge.
My favourite foods are: homemade lasagne, potatoes (every way), soup, curries, sponge cakes, homemade cookies, profiteroles and Galaktoboureko. I absolutely love Japanese food such as mochi, onigiri and ramen.
My interests include varied genres in reading. You will often find me lost in a chunky novel. I enjoy softball, soccer, origami, crafting, drawing, brain teasers, writing stories and comics.
I encourage everyone to participate in all the activities that Matthew and I will be planning. Looking forward to seeing you at Japanese Club!
Your Japanese Captain,
Charlize Chen シャーリーズ
Hello everyone my name is Matthew and I’m your Japanese Captain for 2020. A hobby of mine is Lego, I have loved it for a long time and have a lot of lego sets, among my favorites are Ninjago and Avengers sets. I live with my mum who had to go through some hard time, she escaped on a boat in the Vietnam war, however this isn’t about her, this is about Japanese and me. I have always been fascinated about Japanese culture and I have even had homestay students from Japan stay with me and that means I get to understand the way they live a bit more, like the cultural Japanese toy kendama, I even have one alongside an arsenal of fans. My favorite food is the traditional Vietnamese dish, Pho, it is a bowl of noodles with beef or chicken and some herbs. So if you want to come to the fun activities that Charlize and I will be planning come to Japanese club on Wednesday.
